Baby Oakes April 2019!!

WE ARE PREGNANT! It feels so good to finally be able to tell everyone. I found out I was pregnant August 2nd really early in the morning, but I wanted to wait to tell Brayden a "fun" way! And by fun I mean going and getting a bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cake with a cute little banner cause I mean who doesn't love their bundt cakes?! I take just about any excuse to get one of those cakes haha! So I had to keep the secret all to myself ALL DAY LONG. I quickly hurried home so I could set up the letterfolk board with the cake before I had to go pick up Brayden from school.

Once I finished setting it up, I went to go pick him up from school. I was so excited to see his reaction! I set up a little video so I could capture it. His reaction was so sweet and he was so shocked! I didn't think I would be finding out for at least a few more days. We have had a couple of appointments and have been able to hear the heartbeat and see the baby's cute little profile. We are so excited and can't wait for April!

Papa Dave's 60th Birthday!

Last week was my dad's 60th birthday! So my mom planned a fun trip to Seattle for all of us! It was so much fun being around family and being able to hang out exploring a new city. I was able to meet Tanner and Rylee's new baby Ford! He is seriously so adorable and sweet. Time spent with family always seems to go by way too quick.

Since I have never been to Seattle I was excited to do all the touristy things! We went to the space needle, pike's market, took a ferry to Bainbridge Island, had amazing food and treats! Everything was perfect. My mom planned a special dinner for my dad and had a few of his favorite things and some fun little print outs of everything that was happening in the world the year my dad was born displayed on the table when we got to the restaurant! The restaurant was phenomenal. Everything we ordered was so good, I didn't try one thing that i didn't like! It was a great way to end the weekend.

It was a perfect weekend spent together playing games, walking around the city, and eating til we couldn't eat anymore. Thank you mom and dad for spoiling us that weekend! Happy Birthday Papa Dave! We love you!

Becky's Wedding

A few weeks ago we went to Utah to go to Becky's wedding and hang out with some family. Everything was perfect. Becky looked amazing and the wedding was beautiful! And as a bonus Brayden was able to schedule his exam in Utah that weekend! It was so much fun to be back in Utah and see so many familiar faces. I haven't seen my college roommates since we left for Charleston, so it was so fun catching up with all of my best friends and finally meeting Des' little baby Cal. He is seriously adorable!! I am so glad she brought him with her this weekend.

We loved being able to go to some of our favorite Utah food stops. Of course Cafe Rio, In-N-Out, and Cubby's were at the top of our list. We spent most of the weekend spending time with my parents, brother and sister and their families. We really love being able to go back to Utah and be with family and friends.

2018 Newport Vacation!

Wow. I am seriously so behind... This Newport vacation seemed like forever ago... Like always this vacation was absolutely perfect. It was so much fun being able to spend time with family, even though we were missing some very important people. Brayden could not go because of school..of course. Logan left for his mission just a few weeks before this...but on the bright side he only has one more family vacation to miss until he is back! And Tanner and Rylee weren't able to stay the whole time.. because they had to move to Alaska to get ready for their sweet little baby to come and for Tanner to start his new job!

I always love this vacation. We have our traditions we do every year like Grammy and Pa take all the kids to the balboa candy store and they go wild, an adult night out to dinner, balboa bars, treasure hunt for the kiddos, shopping, bbqs, nightly games once the kids go to bed, etc. It is the best time being surrounded by our family. This vacation is always one of the highlights of the year! It consisted of a lot of pool time, beach time, morning beach runs, the zoo, candy, homemade ice cream, lots and lots of play-doh, food, tattoos, acai bowls, and so much more! I am so thankful for my parents and the time and preparation that the take in order to get our family all together every year. The only thing that could make next year's vacation even better is having Brayden be able to come!! One can only hope...
