Paint Night!

This past weekend has been one of my favorite weekends in Charleston so far! Brayden and I were able to hang out all weekend with just a little bit of studying thrown in the mix. Not having tons to study over the weekend is something that hasn't happened in awhile!

Friday night after we got home from work and school, we headed over to Mt Pleasant to do some returns and run the Arthur Ravenel Bridge. Running the bridge has been on my list of things to do since we have moved to Charleston. We were finally able to do it together! It is so pretty and the sunset was amazing.

A couple of months ago I found a Groupon for a painting class for two and I have wanted to do this for awhile, so we decided to buy it! On Saturday since Brayden's school schedule finally calmed down a little we were able to cash in the Groupon. When we got there we were by far the youngest ones there and Brayden was the only boy. Eventually one other couple a little bit older walked in and Brayden was relieved he wasn't the only male there. Before the class started we had some good laughs of us basically making fun of ourselves and of how bad this all could turn out. We were a little skeptic on how our paintings would turn out, since neither of us have any artistic talent. But I think ours turned out pretty good for having absolutely zero artistic ability! The class was definitely a success! We even were able to paint the bridge that we ran on the night before. After it was over we thought that this would be a fun group thing to do with some friends, so maybe we will have to come again.

By the time the class was over, we were both starving so we met up at the restaurant Mellow Mushroom with one of Brayden's classmates, Michael and his wife Parker. It was so fun to hang out with them and eat some delicious pizza! I love stress/school free date nights with my husband!

Once we got home, we turned Parenthood (we are obsessed) and had some homemade cookies & cream ice cream! We got an ice cream maker for one of our wedding gifts, and I love it! It makes the best ice cream. After watching a couple of episodes we hopped into bed to go to sleep. Unfortunately, what we were thinking would be nice peaceful sleep, with an extra hour because of daylight savings turned out to be not the best night. Around 2:15am the fire alarm in our apartment building went off. It was so loud and made both of us jump out of bed, still a little delirious I might add. What I realized is I do not function as well when I get woken up in the middle of the night. I was running around our room trying to find clothes and shoes to put on so we could get out of the building. About 4 firetrucks showed up and we sat outside for about 20 minutes. Thankfully, it was a false alarm. But it made me realize I need to be a little bit more organized so I can easily find clothes and shoes :)

Besides the fire alarm going off it was a great weekend!

My cute little artist!
